Director, Debt Asset Management- Nuveen Real Estate

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nuveen Real Estate team is seeking to add a Director to support Debt Asset Management in the areas of surveillance and loan asset management. Activities include strategic decision making, loan surveillance and investment performance reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Evaluate credit quality and investment performance of assigned portfolio and identify and report risks.
• Monitor borrower/asset/market level performance; generate internal investment summaries, memorandum and reports with ability to present results.
• Conduct research and perform financial analysis in support of strategic decisions and implementation of complex borrower requests.
• Interface with external clients and internal business partners including accounting, valuation, appraisal, real estate equity, risk management and law.
• Work closely with senior manager in analyzing and implementing strategies for workouts, restructures, foreclosures and dispositions.
• Manage borrower requests involving negotiation, structuring and preparing modifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Real Estate (other majors considered depending upon experience).
• Minimum 10 years of commercial mortgage asset management experience.
• Working knowledge of MS-Excel
Desired Skills:
• Master’s Degree or CFA a plus.
• Distressed Debt/Workout/Restructuring experience.
• Capable of balancing multiple priorities while delivering quality product.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal skills.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated team player with positive work ethic and comfort working independently in a fast paced, demanding environment.
• Working knowledge of Argus Enterprise.
• Willing to travel as needed to assist in property related and investment related analysis and decision making.
