Description
The PII Finance Department is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong financial analysis and interpersonal skills to join the team. The individual will report to a Manager, Planning & Analysis within the P&A team, with key responsibilities as follows:
• Manage several key processes of the monthly/quarterly GAAP and STAT forecast submissions from the Gibraltar/PGFL operations.
◦ This includes both income statement and balance sheet forecasting.
◦ Ensure the local operations submit their financial forecast and key business drivers on time and accurately within the Obero system.
• Prepare insightful analysis on financials and business driver analysis for the Corporate Management Reporting team and Senior Management.
◦ Business driver analysis includes multiple distribution channels.
◦ Understand how changes to markets and key business trends impact financial results.
• Support key initiatives and incorporate into the multi-year forecast.
• Assist in the preparation of PII’s multi-year forecast package to be distributed to Senior Management.
• Lead role in partnering with Treasurers for PII’s FX income/equity hedging program.
• Partner with the local operations, Tax, Treasurers, ESS, Corporate, International Insurance Finance Controllers, International Insurance Finance P&A Consolidation, and the International Insurance Finance Capital Management team during the preparation of forecast submissions.
• Understand the Tax treatment for each Japan operation, and the relationship to the overall profit center multi-year forecast effective tax rates.
Qualifications
• o Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting is preferred
◦ Minimum 2-3 years financial related experience (Plan and forecast experience preferred)
◦ Strong attention to detail
◦ Strong analytical skills
◦ Proficient in Excel
◦ High degree of self-motivation and passion to succeed
◦ Ability to work through issues both independently, and as part of a team
◦ Knowledge of US GAAP financial statements
◦ Multi-tasking and ability to work under tight deadlines
◦ Overtime required during peak planning and forecasting periods
◦ Knowledge of Prudential’s financial systems (Obero, EFDW, etc) preferred
◦ Travel is not expected
