Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice President, Network Communications is responsible for operating and supporting the network and telecommunications systems and managing the Network and Unified Communications teams, globally. This position manages the network and telephony engineers throughout the organization. It will include a high standard of operational readiness in line with business goals. This position ensures sound technology change in a dynamic and fast moving company. The Assistant Vice President, Network Communications will assist in the management of a variety of team-oriented network and telephony support activities, installations, planning projects, architecture standards adherence, and maintenance of the global networks. This includes ensuring the appropriate documentation of network standards and procedures that meets the guidelines of the company.
Essential Functions:
• Manage the network and telephony systems team in the implementations of technology enhancements.
• Approve final network designs for global infrastructure.
• Manage the long-range network implementation and capacity planning for the organization worldwide.
• Manage the daily network operational and support activities as the technical escalation for the network administrators and engineers.
• Develop, publish and maintain the standards and guidelines for IT-related subjects.
• Manage data backups of corporate network and telephony systems according to schedule by application to ensure the process is in line with company policy as well as follow, implement, and maintain network backup and disaster recovery plans according to existing processes and procedures.
• Responsible for managing updates and maintenance of the documentation and drawings of the global network and system infrastructure and configuration.
• Programmed review and maintenance of the global network and telephony systems.
• Develop, implement, manage, and maintain network and telephony system related monitoring tools to proactively monitor and produce reports highlighting potential network or telephony system related problems.
• Develop, implement, and update the strategy for secure remote access and WAN operations across the organization.
• Participation in the creation of IT management reports as it relates to the entire IT operations team.
• Manage the IT budget as it relates to network and telephony systems globally.
• Manage the telecommunication’s vendor relationships.
• High expertise in networking technologies, devices and standards.
• In-depth understanding of Internet management and support (vendors, domain names, certificates, DNS, etc.).
• High-level understanding of data center (server room) and IDF (data closets) management and support.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• A minimum of ten (10) years of senior-level technology management experience with ideally at least four (4) years in a Financial Services or similar high availability environment.
• Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability.
• Strong IT people / systems management background including staff development experience.
• Experience and ability to manage remote staff, as well as a demonstrable ability to align to global standards and work in a globalized environment to provide 24/7 coverage on a rotational basis.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management.

• In-depth understanding of LAN, WAN, and VPN operations, specifically design, capacity planning and network operations is mandatory (Cisco Routers/Switches, Firewalls TCP/IP, VLANS, LAN/WAN routing).
• Experience with cloud provider (Azure, AWS, etc.) network design, SDN, and connectivity.
• Knowledge of Microsoft networking products and technologies (Active Directory, DDNS, WINS, MAPI, SMTP, SMS).
• Knowledge of Servers and Storage infrastructure (preferred SAN and other HP, Cisco Routers/Switches, Firewalls, HP Enterprise Storage and Compute hardware products.
• High-level of understanding of Virtualization (VMWare, Citrix, XenApp, XenDesktop, NetScaler preferred).
• High-level understanding of Microsoft Server environment (Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange, Azure, SCCM SQL Server) as it relates to the global network.
• High-level understanding of Web technologies and Information Security.
• High-level understanding of Unified Communications Services Infrastructure (preferably Cisco UCS) as it relates to the global network.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Office Suite).
• English language written and oral fluency to communicate to all levels of the business mandatory.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business or computer science
Work Environment:
• This job operates in a professional office environment.
• Work hours vary depending on business activity.
Travel Requirements:
• This position requires occasional travel, less than 30%. Travel would be domestic and International as necessary.
