Brief Description:
The Segment Risk Manager supports the execution of the segment's risk program through identifying, measuring, monitoring, and / or controlling aggregate risk in the context of the segment's risk framework, appetite, and pillars. Candidates must be hands-on self-starters with a strong problem solving orientation. The ability to be effective and operate independently in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment is critical.
Detailed Description:
• Assist in identifying risk issues and risk mitigation strategies through ongoing risk assessment, support of product development and change management activities, and qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Work closely with business leaders to enhance risk awareness and support fully-informed decision making in the business segment.
• Work with management to develop appropriate corrective action plans.
• Drive the risk culture with clear and effective expectations, ownership, and accountability for risk management with business area partners.
• Timely identification and escalation to senior management of all key risk issues requiring attention.
• Work cross-functionally with Enterprise Risk, Legal, Compliance and Audit to deliver a fully integrated risk and control framework.
• Assist in completing business risk and control self-assessments in accordance with Corporate Risk Management requirements.
• Complete ad hoc research or documentation requests in support of Corporate or Business Segment Risk Management Programs, including, but not limited to, investigating control gaps, preparing management presentations, and researching regulatory requirements/industry best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Audit, Compliance, or Operational Risk.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• In-depth knowledge of risk management programs and principals, including experience assessing risks, analyzing testing results and action plan development
• Excellent project management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Effective advisory and organizational skills
