Overview
Our Client, a privately held manufacturer and distributer of food products is looking for an Inventory/Procurement Coordinator to join their team. The Inventory/Procurement Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with inventory, including timely allocations and accuracy as well as plan, organize and supervise the purchasing functions in compliance with mandated company’s procurement requirements protocal; overseeing daily activities including major purchases, processes or bid status; negotiating terms and conditions with vendors.
Essential Duties
Inventory Duties:
• Performs inventory functions requiring the management of on-site store rooms by receiving packages, checking invoice accuracy, and packing, sorting and organizing inventory.
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items and obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
• Maintains and analyzes inventory transactions.
• Receives reviews and prepares discrepancy reports for credits or returns.
• Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers, monitoring and expediting orders.
• Resolves problems with appropriate personnel associated with inventory maintenance, such as stock discrepancies and inventory system issues.
• Coordination of the move of stock to appropriate locations, reviews order quantities and verifies purchase order information.
• Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; schedules delivery.
• Transfers stock bin to bin as required.
• Ensures that proper supply levels are maintained.
• Maintains files and records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries.
Procurement Duties
• Review, Analyze, Draft and Negotiate Contract Terms with Suppliers
• Coordinate Proposal and Bid Process
• Monitor Supplier and Contract Performance; Report Findings to Management
• Analyze Purchasing Activity and Make Recommendations for Consolidating and Reducing Costs
• Consolidate Needs with The Other Entities of The Group
• Achieve Demonstrable Cost Savings, Evidenced By ROI
• Develop Strategic Relationships with Suppliers
• Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications
Requirements
• High School diploma/GED required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations Management or relevant business fields
• Minimum 1-3 years of purchasing experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Microsoft Dynamics (specifically MS Great Plains) experience is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Results oriented
• Effectively communicate and understand job tasks both verbally & written in English are a must
• Detail oriented with exceptional time management and priority managements skills
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, speaking, coordinating and organizational skills
• Ability to form relationships and communicate effectively with suppliers and interdepartmental personnel
• Must be able to work well under pressure
• Must be a team player with ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and follow-up on requests
• Travel Required to Local Suppliers as needed (15%)
