CLA is searching for experienced Staff Accountants to join our Outsourcing-Shared Services Center practice, for our Plano, TX office location. Outsourcing is a key strategic growth area of the firm, and the individual in this role will have the unique opportunity to work with the practice CFO to help build this business from the ground up.
The candidate should possess an entrepreneurial mindset whereby s/he can identify opportunities to help clients achieve their own objectives. In addition, s/he should be passionate about being part of CLA’s growth strategy by helping build a robust and efficient outsourcing practice. This position will be part of a progressive, flexible work environment that allows s/he to shape their own career as the outsourcing practice grows.
As a member of CLA’s outsourcing practice, you will provide customized short and long-term finance and accounting services to our clients so they can focus on managing their organizations. In this role, you will support a variety of accounting functions for our clients including processing transactions, completing account reconciliations and financial statements, and support our clients’ accounting function.
Job Description:
• Ability to identify client issues concerning generally accepted accounting principles (FASB / SFAS), specifically related to particular industry.
• Complete account reconciliations, such as bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and required work papers to support the financial statements.
• Process transactions which may include: accounts payable/cash disbursements processing, accounts receivable/cash receipts processing and payroll processing/coordination.
• Gain a thorough understanding of the financial operations of industry specific engagements/clients (i.e. retail, technology, manufacturing, etc.) and produce management reports that analyze business performance.
Education/Experience:
• BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of accounting software packages. QuickBooks experience strongly desired.
• Multiple industry experience a plus
• Ability to travel to local client sites in the Plano area (if necessary).
