Job Description
In this role, you will deliver consistent high-quality hires by focusing on employment prospects, applicants, hiring managers, operational efficiency, and compliance. You will consult and serve hiring managers with planning, sourcing, selecting, and hiring. Additionally, you will provide a consistently exceptional experience for prospects and applicants. Lead and contribute to improving recruiting skills, tools, and processes.
Functions
• Consult and influence hiring managers, align to successful completion of their short-term and long-term goals. Build clear, achievable recruiting plans designed to attract the best and most diverse candidates for every position type. Use data and knowledge of the market to influence decisions about how to plan recruiting efforts.
• Source prospects using modern posting, networking, and other lead generation tools. Determine source effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations. Deliver an experience for prospects that increases engagement and likelihood of applying. Track information that builds prospect lists for future staffing needs. Build talent networks or provide substantial support for internal clients' existing talent marketing systems. Contribute to recruitment marketing content creation and syndication.
• Promote the Umpqua Bank brand and culture by developing strong candidate relationships and delivering an engaging, professional candidate experience.
• Consult and partner with hiring managers to ensure timely and consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process. Facilitate best interviewing practices. Illuminate and address biases; be an advocate for diversity and inclusion. Provide market feedback. Continually qualify candidates with a systematic approach that produces the right finalist and enables a successful offer.
• Demonstrate mastery of the entire selection process and maintain a strong close rate and candidate experience. Lead development of offers by working with hiring managers, compensation team, and business partners. Deliver offers or work with hiring manager to deliver offers. Close candidates based on context that has been gathered in the recruiting process. Consult with hiring team to overcome known issues. Gain commitment from candidates, clear contingencies, set expectations, and provide the link to the onboarding process.
• Lead recruitment process and/or technology improvement projects. Identify and deliver projects that improve recruiting.
• Manage engagements with staffing agencies. Demonstrate full understanding of how to work with agencies in a way that serves the business and temporary associate well.
• Maintain compliance with all regulations and policies. Keep hiring managers and candidates informed of what to expect. Escalate issues appropriately. Manage issues proactively based on prior experience and knowledge of regulations.
• Represent Umpqua Bank at outreach, sourcing, or community events to increase brand awareness and engage with new prospects. Recommend outreach and diversity
• Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position, and keep up to date on regulation changes.
• Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations that apply to your position.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, preferred.
• 2+ years of full cycle recruitment, preferably in a corporate setting. Background with financial institutions desired.
• Advanced ability to source candidates through various techniques and practices.
• Extensive knowledge of employment laws, affirmative action regulations, recruitment practices and behavioral interviewing methods.
• Ability to manage workload and set expectations based on data and metrics, including recruiting funnel analysis, time-to-fill, and quality of hire.
• Experience working with tools such as applicant tracking systems, prospect lists, LinkedIn, niche sites, social media, etc. Proven communication, data analysis, project management, time management, organization and multi-tasking skills, with the flexibility to manage multiple conflicting priorities and frequent change.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and employment levels within and outside of the organization.
• High level of proficiency with technology tools such as applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, Assessment tools, vendor management systems, as well as strong working knowledge of human resource information systems (HRIS) and the Microsoft Office.
• Strong business acumen.
