Program Summary:
MUFG Americas is embarking on a business and technology transformation program to effectively deliver five key business imperatives: compliance, growth, business agility, client experience, and collaboration. The program is structured into four primary pillars, each focused on a critical outcome necessary to meet the transformation objectives: a) core banking transformation; b) data strategy & governance; c) technology modernization; and d) agile transformation.
As we begin implementation of this ambitious initiative, we are creating a Transformation Program Office (TPO) with senior leaders representing the business, technology, and program management to oversee the program. The mandate of the new TPO is to act as the ‘nerve center’ that cuts across our three transformation pillars, ensures coordination of efforts, and enables rapid issue escalation and resolution. To achieve this, the TPO will work closely with the leaders of our transformation pillars, business lines, and corporate functions as they build their teams. The TPO will develop a new operating rhythm, characterized by:
• An agile cadence, with regular meetings, rapid decision-making, and frequent iteration
• A “challenge” mindset that collectively pushes us as a team
• A sense of urgency to drive change quickly (and seek “how to” vs. “why not”)
• Prioritization of efforts that matter
• A focus on execution excellence
Role Summary:
The transformation program office is seeking a transformation roadmap analyst to join the technology team within the TPO. The transformation roadmap analyst facilitates creation of the strategic delivery roadmap, working closely with the transformation pillars to turn the plan into reality.
Major Responsibilities:
• Analyze the transformation program’s overall delivery roadmap, applying technical insights to de-risk the effort
• Identify the transformation program’s critical path and dependencies, working with the execution pillars to unblock issues and ensure delivery
• Keep key stakeholders informed, making complicated issues understandable for non-technologists
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3-5 years technical program management experience within a high integrity, and/or regulated environment (government, healthcare, financial sectors)
• Able to navigate technical architecture and design topics
• An instinctual eye for the critical path, and the risks it faces, particularly those technical in nature
• Able to comfortably manage more simultaneous threads than most
• Interest in adapting new technologies to continuously improve processes & tools
• Understand the fundamentals of iterative development, and the application of agile methodologies
• Strong attention to detail; able to dive into granular detail and still step back to view the broad picture
• Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to find the correct path given limited guidance
• Ability to create insightful visualizations to convey complicated data and concepts succinctly
• Understand product roadmaps from various dimensions: customer journeys, business use cases, implementation (both technical and non-technical), financial impact, dependency management
• Experience with some of the following: cloud-native application architectures, mobile applications, microservice integration, data analytics, high integrity service delivery
• Strong communication & presentation skills
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Tableau and/or other agile tooling and visualization software
• Experience leading software development, systems, or infrastructure engineering teams
• Experience working in a mixed waterfall and agile project environment in the process of transitioning increasingly to agile
• Completion of PMP or other equivalent PM certification
• Experience creating successful implementation plans
• Demonstrated innovation, creativity and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Ability to travel, including out of state and internationally
