What does a great Project Manager, Vendor Management do?
The Project Manager of Vendor Management, delivers vendor related outcomes within time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction for strategic initiatives. Provide leadership, planning, escalation and oversight of strategic vendors working on Card Services priorities. Tasked with evaluating vendors for selection, ensuring vendors meet contractual performance obligations, and managing non-performing relationships back to health. Build trusted relationships, and ensure vendors collaborate to achieve the expected business results for Card Services.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain a holistic view of the overall vendor relationship program to the organization and all stakeholders.
• Ensure predictable, consistent, and successful delivery of external vendors.
• Ensure the tracking, measurement, reporting and evaluation of assigned vendor relationships.
• Work with assigned software vendors in conjunction with internal project teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of code.
• Act as escalation point for all contractual, financial, quality and delivery issues.
• Troubleshoot all vendor issues and present to management as necessary.
• Interface with legal, finance and risk teams to ensure positive vendor outcomes.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to maximize program effectiveness and influence.
• Poised and composed interaction with all levels of the organization (and across Division), including senior-level audience.
• Ability to practically apply vendor management concepts to facilitate the achievement of business objectives.
• Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals.
• Ability to provide a holistic view of a solution by coordinating with and monitoring all impacted business processes from initiation to delivery.
• Ability to understand the various products that are offered in Card Services and align vendors to support the strategic direction of the organization.
• Capable of communicating complex issues, risks and mitigation plans to address them to all impacted stakeholders.
• Evaluating and selecting via Request for Proposal (RFP) events, and contractual terms that speak to vendor performance and resiliency.
• Draws a clear line-of-sight from business objectives to vendor performance management metrics.
• Performs contract oversight and hold managed vendor’s accountable to their contractual obligations.
• Executes analysis, and provides key vendor reports and dashboards.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree is required. Will consider equivalent experience in Project Management of Technical Vendor Management Programs in lieu of degree.
• 8+ years of professional experience as a Project Manager or equivalent position responsible for defining and managing project scope, timelines, profitability, and effective delivery of solutions.
• 8+ years of experience in vendor management, vendor process development, and change management in regard to vendor programs.
• Experience in contract negotiation, SLA development, and vendor review processes.
• Experience measuring vendor performance to business outcomes and objectives.
• Experience in driving small to medium size vendor projects within a matrixed organization environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree or industry certification.
• Project Management Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe SPC, ITIL or Lean Six Sigma.
• Professional demeanor and comfortable working with C-level executives.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 5- 10%
Additional Skills/Knowledge:
• Strong communicator able to identify and clearly communicate the impact of project risks to budget, timeline and scope to relatively non-technical co-workers and key business stakeholders with excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to direct internal and external resources and build strong relationships
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality deliverables.
• Able to work with teams to balance solution vs. budget, schedule, and tools.
• Cool under pressure, able to manage many details and priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Experience using standard project management tools such as MS Project, Clarity, or Planview.
