Typical Day in the Life
A typical day as an Consulting Manager for the Business Outsourcing & Strategy group in Dubuque,
Act as the key point of contact on day-to-day accounting matters for clients.
Work closely with a client to assess their changing business and financial needs.
Customize financial reporting for a client to meet their specific needs and help them better manage their business.
Prepare and analyze a client's key performance indicators (KPIs) and other management reports.
Provide ongoing advice to clients relating to historical financial information as well as financial projections.
Oversee a client engagement team through a monthly/quarterly/period-end process that includes review of month-end balancing and journal entries, analysis of GL accounts, coding and completion of data entry of bank statement, and other bookkeeping transactions as completed by the engagement team.
Oversee the preparation of reports, returns and other documents as required, including sales tax reports, payroll reports, year-end tax forms, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and other reports requested by clients while ensuring report results comply with GAAP.
Utilize technology to account for all accounting transactions for a client and provide recommendations to streamline processes.
Manage a team of Outsourced Accounting Specialists and provide mentoring/technical training as necessary.
Participate in business development and identify opportunities to cross-sell value-added services to a client.
Conduct client billing as needed.
Provide project management for special projects as needed.

You have knowledge of and exposure to a variety of industries.
You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks and using various accounting software.
In addition to all of this, you have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, hold an active CPA or CMA license and have 5+ years of experience in private/public accounting working managing staff and working with clients.
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
