About the role:
Liberty Mutual’s Agent and Customer Technology team is seeking an experienced, motivated Senior Full Stack Developer to lead a new Agile team. You will be engaged in a challenging, innovative work that impact our agents and employees including building out a modern, scalable architecture and UI for our agency incentives program.
You will be responsible for all phases of the development from reviewing business requirements, to design, to construction and test, to deployment. You will work in a fully agile manner, adapting to the market changes and requirements. We also want candidates who take pride in their work and have strong design and development expertise. We value quality code delivery and expect candidates to demonstrate competence at writing, testing and debugging their code.
As a full stack developer on the Application team, you’ll be part of an agile squad focused on building a new system in our agent incentives and engagement domain supporting both our personal and business lines. It’s an exciting time to join this team, as you will be able to lead and influence a group of motivated professionals as well as get an opportunity to collaborate with some of the best product owners. Our team focuses on new development, and we work mainly with Java, Java Microservices, JavaScript with focus on Typescript, DB development with both no SQL and relational DBs, PCF, AWS and Web services in a fully scaled, distributed agile environment. This work will also provide opportunities to build new applications using client-side front end frameworks such as Angular JS/React/Vue.
Responsibilities include:
• Full stack development
• Lead and mentor the agile team on technical decisions
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to remove blockers, refine stories, plan Sprints, and demo functionality to diverse business stakeholders
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects/bugs
Desired skills:
• Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in technical discipline or a related discipline.
• Generally 3+ years of professional experience in a systems quality environment.
• Requires experience with automated testing and modeling tools, and a broad knowledge of business modeling, process engineering, change management and test case generation techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards.
• Experience with Event-driven real-time architecture, familiarity with MongoDB or similar NoSQL Databases.
• Foundational knowledge or proficient in new and emerging technologies such as AWS/Azure, SpringBoot, DevOps, CI/CD (Jenkins), and MicroServices.
• Experience with TDD, BDD, and automating tests relating to web service design and development.
• Ability to plan and implement all aspects of the testing process in application areas.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to change effectively.
