Opportunity Overview
Senior Analyst, People Analytics
The Data Analyst will be part of a team that will support firm to unleash the full potential of people data. This team is responsible to support HR and the rest of the enterprise with insights development and inform people decisions, through sourcing and developing data, measuring, and reporting People information.
Key Responsibilities:
• Solve data problems and source the right data with minimal documentation such as data dictionary and metadata.
• Create, maintain, and develop custom reporting and dashboards in support of Firm initiatives/programs via Tableau, PeopleSoft, Excel and Envision
• Answer ad-hoc business questions by writing complex SQL to extract data out of multiple databases/domains and transform raw data into meaningful information.
• Design, automate and convert legacy reports to solutions that create efficiency and reduce errors by building SQL and/or Tableau.
• Perform effectively in a team environment and with cross-functional project teams with general direction from others.
• Identify, extract, clean, transform, validate and model data across multiple domains using various technologies and languages (SQL required, Envision and PeopleSoft preferred.)
• Document, monitor, and proactively recommend improvement to processes and controls related to area responsibilities while quantifying the impact of changes for leaders.
• Clearly and concisely communicate complex information to a variety of audiences and mediums.
• Collaborate with business areas and project teams to elicit, identify, prioritize, and document BI and data requirements.
• Maintain high level of accuracy and apply upmost attention to details to own work
Position Requirements
Position Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree required, preferably in the areas of mathematics, finance, accounting, economics, engineering or information systems.
• 3+ years relevant work experience
• Technical proficiency in the following:
• Ability to interact with Oracle and PeopleSoft databases
• SQL (Required)
• Microsoft Excel - experience creating advance formulas, and macros/vba (Required)
• Envision (Preferred)
• PeopleSoft Query Manager (Preferred)
• People person and team player who is willing to sacrifice individual performance for the greater good of the team
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of analytics or BI terminology associated with HR and financial services industry is a plus
• Working knowledge of advanced financial analysis, forecasting, data modeling, statistical analysis and complex financial modeling is a plus
• Strong QA and analytical mindset and excels in investigating and troubleshooting reporting accuracy and errors
• Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks/projects and adjust to changing priorities with minimal leader required
• Strong organization and planning skills
