At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Manager will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Responsibilities include some or all of the following:
• Collaborating closely with Grant Thornton team members to develop short and long term growth strategies
• Leading business development activities such as capture, teaming, proposals, point of view whitepapers, and conference attendance
• Developing a strong pipeline and lead capture and proposal activities on multiple concurrent opportunities.
• Representing the Grant Thornton brand and capabilities at conferences and other market-facing events.
• Providing capture and program management of complex programs.
• Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management.
• Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work.
• Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
• Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
• Act as performance manager (coach) for up to four coachees outside of engagement responsibilities.
• Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.
Qualifications
• Qualified candidates will possess one or more professional certification such as Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Certified Government Financial Manager.
• Ten or more years of Federal healthcare consulting services experience,
• Proven track record of growing business in the Federal healthcare market and/or providing quality client delivery of complex Federal healthcare programs,
• Strong HHS subject matter expertise and demonstrated relationship building skills,
• Established professional network with government decision makers and potential teaming partners at one or more of the following Operating Divisions: Food and Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and/or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing the business development life cycle, including up front strategy, capture, and proposal delivery.
• Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
• U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
• Travel may be required.
• Coach and mentor junior staff members.
• Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
• Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
• Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
