Position Overview
The data team within Single Family Credit Analytics Reporting (CAR) provides information needed for credit risk analytics, predictive modeling and reporting across different lines of business. We are looking for a confident, self-motivated, and creative professional to focus on data analysis and modeling.
The primary categories of work include:
Requirements Gathering
• Collaborate across business areas to gather data requirements
• Understand single family business and data process flows
• Develop and document functional data requirements
Data Modeling
• Understand data patterns by performing in-depth data analysis and data mining
• Translate business requirements into technical data specifications
• Develop logical and physical data models to facilitate analytics and reporting
• Experience with Modern Data Modeling Techniques. Working with large volume data sets, tuning, performance optimization. Worked with JSON, XMLs, and other types of semi and unstructured data sets
• Data Models – read vs write patterns
• Data Governance Standards and Controls
• Responsible for managing and maintaining data models for multiple business applications.
Data Validation
• Develop test approach and detailed test cases
• Participate in UAT and post-production validation activities
• Investigate and recommend solutions for data related issues
• Hands on SQL, SAS or similar language experience
Collaboration and Leadership
• Work on multiple priorities with minimal supervision
• Communicate effectively across technology and business teams
• Support ad-hoc requests as needed
• Mentor junior team members and manage consultants
Qualifications
Requirements
• 5+ years of data modeling experience, with a combination of business and technical skills
• 5+ years of SQL programming experience
• Experience with SAS or similar programming languages is plus
• Degree in Information Management, Computer Science or related field with 8+ years industry experience or commensurate related industry experience
• Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Worked in the business area or closely/directly with business are to gather business requirements/rules logic and develop code.
• Experience with database, data model and data warehouse concepts
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with agile methodology
