Position Description
SEI (NASDAQ:SEIC) is a leading global provider of investment processing, investment management, and investment operations solutions that help corporations, financial institutions, financial advisors, and ultra-high-net-worth families create and manage wealth.
The Fund Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and assisting the staff with the daily functions of the Fund Accounting Department. The individual must supervise the Fund Accountants and enforce the policies and procedures put in place by management.
The responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:
Ability to accurately complete daily checks of: security audit reports or Apollo equivalent (trade checks), NAV impact (R086) reports, daily work packets, corporate actions, expense processing, CARS reconciliations
Active and rigorous review of all daily work performed by Fund Accountants
Review and sign off on daily FundCenter reports
Accurately calculate and process dividend distributions
Research and resolve errors on a timely basis (with documentation)
Participate in the preparation and/or instruction of a training program at least once per year
Attend at least two professional development classes each year
Understand, practice and enforce department policies and procedures
Oversee the daily functions and professional development of the Fund Accountant
Monitor and enforce standards set for the Fund Accountant
Be actively involved in staff development on an ongoing basis
Prepare monthly expense packages and scorecards
Assist with the preparation of SEC filings (e.g. N-SAR, N-1A, 24F-2, N-MFP)
Write and discuss employees’ performance appraisals
Assist Fund Administration in performing expense budget analysis and allocating expense payments
Perform necessary functions for new business conversions
Contribute to the idea generation process regarding new processes, controls and technologies
Assist in rolling out and enforcing new technologies and departmental policies
Participate in group and departmental projects
Assume a leadership role in meeting departmental goals
Ensure a high level of client service
Respond to requests made by external and internal auditors
Fill in for the Fund Accounting Manager during periods of absence
Identify potential problems and formulate possible solutions to them
Collaborate with peers and managers to resolve issues
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
BS/BA degree in business, finance or related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in Financial Services Industry working with Fund Accounting
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to perform in a fast –paced environment and meet time-sensitive deadlines
Knowledge and expertise of the SunGard Invest One Enterprise system, CARS, FundCenter Spectra/OLE, Bloomberg, TEAM, and NASDAQ/MFQS
Experience with conversions and de-conversions a plus
“Non- ’40 Act” Accounting experience a plus (non-daily valuations, multiple custodians, custom reporting, Stable Value/Unitized Stock funds, etc.)
Regular and reliable attendance in accordance with position, business and/or client needs.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
