About US Partnerships
US Partnerships is an area within Barclaycard that manages our co branded relationships. Barclaycard has relationships with some of the nation's most successful travel, entertainment, retail, affinity and financial institutions.
Overall Purpose of role
This role will have overall program management responsibility to drive profitable growth for one of our key strategic Cobrand partnerships. Responsibilities include day-to-day management of partner relationship, building and delivering upon growth strategies, setting strategic direction, P&L management, product strategy including value proposition management, people management and cross-functional leadership. As the general manager for this program, this role will provide cross-functional leadership and manage internal partnerships across the organization including Finance, Risk, Marketing, Customer Experience, Operations & Technology, etc.
Your Role (Key Accountabilities)
• Build and deliver upon marketing strategies and initiatives that drive profitable growth
• Establish aggressive growth targets, monitor and ensure adherence to the plan
• Motivate and lead a cross-functional team to drive program optimization and strategic direction
• Maintain effective day-to-day working relationship with the partner
• Drive strategy that ensures continual innovation and improvement to current products and procedures
• Identifies internal and external risks and drives development of proactive and responsive strategies: creates and/or engages cross functional teams to implement
• Act as liaison with credit card networks (Visa/MasterCard)
• Hire and develop superior talent. Responsible for team building for individual team, department wide, and across departments
• Provides senior leadership presence for meetings and acts as key escalation contact
• Lead work-streams for renewal decisions and discussions
• Drive strategies to be presented; supports team members in defining, finalizing, presenting, and gaining consensus on strategies
• Ensure adherence to the control agenda and meet compliance standards and ensure excellent customer experience
Person Specification
• Experience with all aspects of marketing across the customer lifecycle including Acquisition, Retention, Activation, and Usage
• Thorough understanding and management of product P&L and balance sheet
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to build business cases and make data driven business decisions
• Highly refined and professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and interact at all levels across the organization including extensive engagement with senior executives
• Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful internal and external relationships
• Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills
• Working knowledge of credit strategy impacts with demonstrated ability to effectively work with credit and strategic analytics stakeholders to drive profitable growth
• Proven people leadership experience and successful track record driving results from a team
• Adept at developing Power Point presentations with the ability to communicate insights and sell-in recommendations
• Proven track record of business development and setting strategic direction
Basic Qualifications/Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 10+ years of business experience preferably in financially oriented consumer market
• 5+ years progressive management experience
• 5+ years marketing experiences
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
• Graduate degree preferred
• Recent digital product and marketing experience
