Job Description
As an IRA Specialist,you will:
Play an integral role in the Private Wealth Management Retirement Plan Consulting Department. You will be responsible for the creation and implementation of Individual Retirement Account (IRA) marketing related activities and technical support to Baird Financial Advisors as an IRA subject matter expert.
This position is responsible for providing technical expertise on IRA and Roth IRA accounts to include techniques surrounding RMD, 72(t) planning, NUA, and beneficiary planning. You will also be involved in the service and support of various department and other cross-functional related projects and initiatives provided to Baird Financial Advisors and in turn, their clients and prospects. You will also work directly with team members, Financial Advisors and other cross-functional Baird teams.
• Responsible for IRAs and IRA-Based plans (SEP and SIMPLE IRAs) technical support as a subject matter expert to Baird Financial Advisors or other departments, including rollover issues, beneficiary designations, early distributions, required minimum distributions, etc.
• Responsible for creating and implementing IRA marketing strategies for Baird Financial Advisor use.
• Creates technical material for external marketing brochures and forms, as well as internal informational pieces that assist Financial Advisors in marketing IRAs.
• Serves as a resource to Financial Advisors and internal Baird departments for any new legislation as it is introduced that impacts individual investors, including new products and changes to existing legislation.
• Provides training to Financial Advisor trainees as requested. Conducts “live” or recorded e-learning sessions to discuss IRA topics and provide up to date information to Financial Advisors. May conduct on-site client meetings with the Financial Advisor i.e. rollover seminars.
• Collaborate with Baird’s Retirement Plan Specialist to ensure BairdWeb IRA content is always updated and relevant.
• Involved in the Institutional Consulting contract process and delivery system on new and existing qualified retirement plans.
• Work on special projects that may include coordination of department initiatives and cross-functional related projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years experience in a financial services operational or client assistant-type role, with experience regarding IRAs
• NASD Series 7 licensing required or ability to become licensed within six months.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with internal and external clients.
• Exceptional organizational skills as well as ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and/or strategy and accurately communicate the concepts to others.
• Must be a self-starter, take initiative and work independently while possessing excellent follow through skills and strong attention to detail. In addition, must have strong coordination skills to work well with other cross-functional teams.
• Ability to act as a team player, assisting others in the department when necessary is very important, all in a collaborative manner.
• Ability to shift focus in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
