Accounting Specialist Opportunity Overview
As an Accounting Specialist with Banner Bank you will be responsible performing general accounting functions such as posting entries, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with month end processes.
As a Accounting Specialist with Banner Bank you will have the opportunity to:
• Understand the purpose and the process for completing various reconciliations
• Process invoices accurately and timely
• Prepare various daily and month-end general ledger journals
• Post journals to the general ledger as needed
• Answer calls and respond to inquiries including payment eligibility of Official Checks
• Train and be able to routinely provide back-up for other accounting department staff
• Comply with various internal control policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certifications
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field preferred
Experience
• 1 or more years of related experience required
• 3 or more years of related experience highly preferred
Preferred Skills
• Ability to read, analyze, understand, interpret and follow general business communications and procedures documents
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Proficient in use of personal computer operations, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Demonstrated knowledge of account reconciliations and certification requirements
• Effectively conduct research and reporting procedures necessary within the department and as required to assist other departments
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to accounting
