JOB SUMMARY
A Financial Consultant acts as a dedicated representative assigned to a specific branch (or multiple branches) to deliver Non-Deposit Investment Products (NDIPs) and services to the branch customers and prospective customer base.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Delivers professional investment services to customers to help them meet their financial goals. Reviews and recommends suitable investment and insurance options to customers. Identifies clients' investment objectives and uses current information along with prior knowledge and experience to determine the most appropriate investments. Employs ethical business practices to ensure full compliance of regulatory, broker dealer and internal requirements. Researches investment options and identifies investment strategies and potential investments to solve customers' investment needs. Provides answers/responses to customer questions and concerns. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulations governing products and services. Builds strong relationships with retail branch staff, supporting and motivating their investment services sales efforts. Must meet or exceed sales/revenue goals.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience:High school diploma or equivalent.{Minimum of two (2) years investment sales experience (preferably in a bank environment). Must maintain Licenses and FINRA registrations: Active State Applicable Life Insurance License, Active Series 7 Registration, Active Series 63 Registration (if required by the state of hire), Active Series 65 or 66 Registration (If required by the state of hire. If required by state of hire and not active, must acquire within the first six months of hire)
Knowledge, skills and abilities: Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently. Excellent knowledge of investment/insurance products and financial planning. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite, including Power Point and applications specific to the Bank and/or the broker dealer. Excellent sales and closing skills. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Possess strong organization skills. Excellent customer service and business focus with a great attention to detail. Effective research and analysis skills. Ability to travel within assigned geographic region. Ability to conduct product awareness and referral training presentations to retail bank employees. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
