The Senior Director – Product Line Manager – Demand Deposit Accounts will lead the strategy and key growth initiatives for Netspend’s newly launched Demand Deposit Account (DDA) product line. DDA represents a graduation product for our most loyal prepaid customers, and also offers the potential for opening up new market segments. Your deep experience in the retail banking industry will help you to define a clear strategy for winning in a marketplace defined by shifting consumer expectations and the rise of disruptive technology platforms.
This is a key leadership role that requires a strongly collaborative individual. You will be working closely with Netspend’s senior leadership team to drive and monitor the performance of this critical product line as well as interfacing directly with Netspend’s issuing bank to ensure product compliance.
Note that this is a product line management role and not a technical PM position – the role’s focus will be driving P&L performance and a winning roadmap, rather than day-to-day software development.
Responsibilities
• Drive the market success of the product line, making strategic course corrections as needed
• Collaborate with distribution channel leaders to define product line evolution, including virtual/digital product variants
• Provide leadership for a team of senior product managers
• Lead the development of the long-term product roadmap for DDA
• Define clear-data-driven business cases for new products within the line
• Support effective day-to-day product lifecycle management for In-market products
• Define KPI’s, dashboards, and management reporting for the line; be the internal expert on all product line operational metrics
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and banking relations teams to ensure that all products are compliant; be the expert in all regulatory factors for product line success
• Define clear business requirements for implementation by technical PM teams
• Act as product thought leader/evangelist during enterprise sales efforts and at key industry events
• Work closely with the technical product management team to launch successful product enhancements
Skills/Education/Experience
• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, statistics or business; MBA preferred
• 10 years product management experience, preferably as owner of a product line P&L
• Demonstrated success driving the commercial performance of a financial/payments product
• Ability to quickly assess product/market fit; identify new segments of opportunity; and otherwise lead growth initiatives
• Demonstrated success presenting to client prospects and supporting key business development efforts
• Experience managing credit, savings, overdraft, and/or risk products at a payments/banking/financial services organization. Retail banking experience preferred.
• Top-tier communication skills – high level of comfort interacting with C-level leaders, both internal and external
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills, and experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to travel at least 20%
