JOB SUMMARY
A Senior Credit Analyst will Work with Commercial Relationship Managers to provide and assist with an underwriting analysis and loan structure that accurately determines the credit worthiness of commercial credit customers and identifies and mitigates key risks.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance required - Bachelor’s degree in Economics may also be considered, based on Accounting and Finance courses taken.
• 1 - 3 Years’ Experience of commercial credit analyst/underwriting experience preferred
• Completion of formal credit training with demonstrated knowledge preferred
• Working knowledge of and compliance with bank policies, procedures and regulations
• Must have proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills and accuracy.
• Excellent skills in using Microsoft Excel and Word
• Attention to Detail
• Works effectively in a team
• Analytical Skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Prepare underwriting analysis for new loan renewals and modifications, includes a detailed analysis of financial performance, financial condition, and identification of key risks and mitigating factors. These loans will primarily be at the loan committee level and above.
• Prepare financial projections and stress tests.
• Prior to completing a credit write-up, ask the questions that have not been asked and seek out information not provided in order to complete a thorough credit write up.
• Write an objective narrative on the credit worthiness of the loan proposal.
• Assist the commercial relationship managers with loan structure, including covenant package, reporting requirements, advance rates and pricing.
• Proactively communicate timely updates and deliver final loan presentations within the established service standard timeframe.
• Assist commercial relationship managers on customer calls and assist with tracking financial reporting and monitoring requirements.
• Assist the commercial relationship managers with credit approval presentations.
• Assist commercial relationship managers on prospect calls and loan closings.
• Participate in developmental events and programs sponsored by the Risk Management
Association (RMA), American Bankers Association (ABA), or other similar organizations, as well as the Bank’s internal training program.
• Take a dynamic approach to the job by initiating actions and making decisions.
