Job Description
TEAM SUMMARY
The Visa Global SME Platforms business unit has overall responsibility for all aspects of global strategy, development and management for Visa Small Business platforms. The Global SME team is accountable for global interoperability of Small Business platforms; developing new solutions and technology support; and building alliances and solutions. The team sets and leads the platform vision for Visa’s Business platforms, platform requirements, the development of global strategy and roadmaps, and the implementation and ongoing operation of platforms supporting Visa’s small business payment products globally. The team works collaboratively with other business units within Visa including: Global SME Product, Global Services, Technology, LMM Platforms & Legal as well as region-focused product delivery and client delivery teams; ensuring alignment across Visa.
JOB SCOPE
The Manager, Global Small Business Platforms will play a central role in advancing our Small Business strategy in key-growth segments for Visa. Using a broad skill-set, the candidate will support initiatives vital to the Small Business team including growth initiatives and enhancing the tools in support of the strategy. As part of these efforts, the candidate will be instrumental in driving initiatives to deliver the reporting and loyalty platforms. As a platform manager for Global Small Business, this role will be directly focused on platform strategy, roadmap and feature/functionality. The role will work with Visa Loyalty Platform Services (VLPS) providing program operational support. The role also works with the extended Visa Small Business Global and Regional teams to identify gaps, new requirements and go-to-market plans that meet issuer and small business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with Visa teams and partners to deliver Small Business platforms/tools that result in net new incremental revenue
• Work with internal and external partners to drive strategy, define requirements and end-to-end management of projects that create value for our small business users
• Proactively work with Small Business product managers to identify strategic opportunities, manage moderately complex assignments that are diverse in scope, and search out appropriate courses of action.
• Represent VLPS capabilities when collaborating with Product Managers about product roadmap development, i.e., provide clear business requirements, development options, scope and timing
• Research and review transactional/operational data to ensure accurate operational set up of merchant participation in the program, including award rules, transaction tracking and qualification verification
• Research and resolve program issues pertaining to merchant identification, transaction processing and billing issues by obtaining and examining all relevant information to determine cause and facilitate resolution.
• Coordinate internal resources to accomplish Visa and client objectives, and ensure that the client perspective is represented within the organization.
• Use platform tools and interfaces to assist in client needs such as merchant identification, merchant onboarding, secure file transmission and issue resolution.
• Manage special projects and drive product management goals by collaborating with cross functional groups including legal, privacy, product, IT, analytics, and business development teams.
• Stay current with industry and client trends and maintain a working knowledge of Visa products and services.
• Develop a deep expertise in all Visa Small Business products to demonstrate industry leadership across small business products (including market-driven knowledge)
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong business acumen and a global mindset
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including technical and non-technical resources
• Strong results-oriented focus; analytic and fact-based consultative discipline
• Add value by insightful and thoughtful questioning, offering new ideas, and delivering solutions
• Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, highly organized and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
• Ability to work with leading industry partners and negotiate effectively to achieve desired outcome
• Able to work independently in a matrixed environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office – PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with SQL statements and BI reporting solutions such as MicroStrategy are a plus.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills are required.
