The Operations Specialist is responsible for the following:
• Review inbound/outbound collection calls for compliance with consumer financial protection laws and regulations.
• Verify and/or reconcile information exchanged between TCF and the third party collection agencies for accuracy.
• Process all disputes and complaints received by the agencies for inclusion in the TCF records.
• Process Do Not Call requests received by the third party agencies for inclusion in the TCF Do Not Call database.
• Facilitate the exchange and retention of documentation between TCF and the third party agencies as required by the TCF Collection Agency Oversight Procedure.
• Effectively respond to requests for research or information from third party collection agencies, retail banking representatives, customer contact agents, and numerous corporate operations departments.
• Any additional tasks assigned as necessary to comply with or improve TCF collection agency oversight practices.
• The ability to use analytical skills while performing oversight activities is expected to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
• High School Education or GED
• 6 or more months as an Operations Specialist 1 or 12+ months comparable experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents (i.e. Safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
• Ability to complete routine reports and document appropriate files
• Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
• Ability to resolve problems involving several variable in standardized situations
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Experienced with Excel/Word or other applicable software
• Good communication, organization and time management skills
