This position reports to the CIO, is a member of the CIO leadership team and serves a key role in organization’s leadership, working closely with senior leaders, management team and the entire business community. The role will serve as the Point of Contact to the business and leadership team. This role will focus on innovative and modern application development solutions for MoneyMart’s digital transformation. The Sr. Director, Strategic Initiatives and Enabling Technology is responsible for understanding the digital/mobile business goals, anticipating business needs, and proactively providing digital technology solutions as those needs arise. The ideal candidate will proactively reach out to internal customers and peers to establish trusting relationships; strive to understand goals of business/technology, take broad POV, effectively manage requests and help to understand tradeoffs and make difficult decisions. In addition, this role will lead a team consisting of Project Managers, business analysts and developers.
The complexity of this position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative, and collaborative, with a sophisticated ability to work with other leaders to set the best balance between strategic initiatives and other priorities.
Responsibilities-
• Plan, organize and direct the development of business software and application systems for enabling functions (Compliance, HR, Finance, Marketing) and contact center
• Engage with business partners to refine requirements and strategies to help drive business goals/objectives and lead the team to deliver and support innovative digital technology solutions to meet business goals
• Coordinate the mobile development and maintenance of mobile software development standards, and source code control measures throughout the enterprise
• Implement a technology strategy leveraging cloud and advanced analytics
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of software development standards, and source code control measures throughout the enterprise
• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
• Provide management reporting related to the support of business systems and application development.
• Review, analyze and recommend system features and solutions
• Budget planning and tracking for the Enterprise Software Development department
• Communicate to senior management on development progress and associated business projects and plans
• Participate in project planning during all phases of the project life cycle as needed
• Develop and implement initiatives and strategies for areas supported. Ensure strategies, objectives, and initiatives are in line with the overall corporate initiatives, strategies, and goals
• Work with Business in developing business strategy
• Assist in the overall leadership and implementation of emerging technologies across the enterprise.
• Brief the executive team on status and risks, including taking the role of champion for the overall strategy and necessary budget
• Communicate best practices and risks to all parts of the business, outside IT
Qualifications
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in IT field with 7 in an executive-level position, out of which 5 years in banking / financial sector
• Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups
• Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
• Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
• Significant knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
• Working knowledge of the consumer/commercial loan business
• Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
• Must be a self-starter and able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision
• Experience with data visualization concepts and tools
• Advance experience with data visualization concepts and tools
• Computer skills and conversant in information technology issues
• Ability to effectively lead, organize, and supervise
• Ability to work directly with senior level management
