The Role
As the Sr Consultant, Strategic Planning, you will be focused on partnering with assigned area of responsibility to design plans that define and align strategic growth/efficiency opportunities with business objectives mostly in our Group Protection business unit.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
• Designs actionable plans that reflect and are derived from the most significant strategies of each business segment including working across organizational boundaries to include distribution, service, technology and other areas of Lincoln.
• Create implementable three year plans that link strategy to tactics and foster growth and profitability while ensuring business plans are consistent with Lincoln Financial Groups growth, financial and business objectives
• Establishes frameworks to reassess and/or define business vision, goals, objectives and initiatives.
• Facilitates discussions and analysis to assess how these environmental factors should be integrated into strategic plans.
• Ensures that the analysis, development and implementation of business strategies are founded in a realistic assessment of opportunity, ties to Corporate and Divisional Strategy, and fairly assesses the economic and financial consequences.
• Drives strategic alignment across multiple work streams to maximize project synergies and ensure delivery of holistic and high impact business solutions utilizing a high level of strategic business thinking.
• Identifies organizational issues including cultural, structural, business process or organizational alignment as they relate to strategies and work with businesses to address.
Management
• Leads cross-functional team to structure, shape and provide overall direction on strategic plans.
Collaboration
• Partners with the business to establish metrics for objectives.
• Collaborates with business partners to drive innovation efforts focused on medium and long term.
• Partners with internal stakeholders to frame strategic opportunities that have consumer and producer impacts.
• Leverages strong internal network and can get things done through formal and informal channels.
Analysis
• Researches and analyzes our space to identify business growth opportunities, develop business cases and define executable implementation plans.
• Directly and indirectly scans the environment enlisting resources within LFG and outside the company to identify risks and opportunities.
• Coordinates cost-benefit analysis for proposed opportunities.
Project Work
• Directs and/or manages projects demonstrating strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
Requirements
Education
• Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
Experience
• 5-7 years strategy/planning and/or market research and/or business analytics and/or project management experience in the financial services that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of the position.
• Prior experience or knowledge of Group Benefits or Insurance preferred
• A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
