Senior Technical Product Manager to drive a variety of business-critical projects. As a member of the product development division, will work across a large group of stakeholders to collectively drive the improvement of key business processes. Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget. Analyze and integrate cross departmental specifications, suggest and justify product directions and requirements. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with engineering to discuss major changes to functionality. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. The expansion and growth of IDW program, client projects for BlackRock, XTF, Vanguard, and Citi has drastically increased the need for a Senior Technical Product Manager.
The Technical Product Manager should have a strong multi-disciplinary operations and finance background with a track record influencing senior business and technology leaders and driving key initiatives at the highest levels. Strong familiarity with product management and sales activities is highly preferred, as well as a background building and delivering complex projects.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
• Lead the team of software developers from Product Management context and deliver high quality products using Agile development practices
• Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle
• Collaborate with users and other IT teams to maintain, develop and deploy the best solutions
• Establish technology product standards with the team and other development managers
• Managing the delivery of multiple complex simultaneous system development projects from design through to production
• Capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to implementation level
• Working closely with Development Project Managers and Business Analysts to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
• Provide regular and effective progress updates to and work closely with Development Project Managers to ensure the management of any delivery risks or issues
• Define delivery phases of the project including activities, sub-activities, and milestones ensuring these are documented and used as the basis for the project event log, issues and risk log and any subsequent reporting
• This position will be responsible for custom application development following industry best practices, specifically in the AWS Big Data & API development work. A Technical Product manager is expected to produce custom application solutions by working closely with business users throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle. This personnel will work both collaboratively and independently among a team of other application developers in the areas of requirements gathering, learning industry and LSEG best practices, solution architecture and software development methodology.
• Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
• College Degree preferred or equivalent
• Knowledge of finance industry and experience with working/managing alongside of development teams
• Improved communication (and trust) from your development team.
• Ability to understand tech trends, see how they impact your roadmap, and how they drive innovation.
• Improved communication with your customers, for example when speaking with CIOs and CTOs.
• Ability to understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs with your team.
• Effectively collaborate with peer group (Agile/Scrum team) using Jira/Confluence
• Effectively communicate with our Business Partners: end-users, user groups and product owners
• Understanding and experience with Cloud services (e.g. AWS) is preferred
• Proven ability to complete assigned work in timely and quality manner
• Demonstrate personal initiative to meet personal and professional goals
