The Role
The Leadership Preparation Program (LPP) at Lincoln Financial Group is a two-year development program designed to prepare high-performing, college graduates for strategic roles within our company. As a Application Development Support Associate you will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects for assigned area(s) of application development responsibility. You will support innovative business solutions by creating basic new applications and modifying basic existing applications and providing post production support. You will support the delivery of business application software solutions following the system development life cycle process while working under close supervision.
Duties and Responsivities
• Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Performs and delivers on routine assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, integrates and tests basic software application solutions for systems.
• Analyzes basic systems specifications of existing programs to determine requirements.
• Documents programs and procedures.
• Provides basic input to appropriate project team members regarding project plans, test plans and implementation plans.
• Creates basic technical specifications from business requirements/business specifications.
• Prepares and/or generates basic test data.
• Tests program changes thoroughly to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborates with team members to support and understand requirements and expectations to achieve quality technical solutions.
• Participates in the requirements, design and coding walkthroughs to ensure the development of quality solutions.
• Investigates and resolves basic problems including providing support for production systems in a timely manner.
• Proactively identifies basic problems and presents/develops solutions.
• Communicates effectively with team members, internal stakeholders and management.
• Ensures that basic system improvements are successfully implemented.
• Supports, applies and adheres to LFG standards and processes, including change management and project management methodology.
Requirements
• College senior – degree completed prior to start date
• A minimum GPA of 3.0
• Demonstrated leadership skill
• Self-motivated and results-oriented
• Exceptional communication skills
• Prior internship experience
• Effective networking skills
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to deal with change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
• Must be willing to relocate for both rotations
