Position Description
Title: Processing Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Retail
Location: Multiple
Reports To: Director of Operations
Primary Function
The main focus of this position is to provide leadership & oversight to a team of mortgage processors.
Principal Duties
• Manage the day to day operations of the mortgage loan processing function
• Ensure all Service Level Agreements are adhered to
• Work directly with the Operations Manager/Director of Operations to implement strategies & objectives to ensure efficient pipeline management
• Train and develop staff members to ensure achievement of all processing standards
• Perform ongoing performance assessments (monthly/annual) & coach/counsel staff appropriately
• Lead by example, exhibiting a strong work ethic, a desire to continue learning and improving & strong time management, organizational & multi-tasking skills
• Handle escalated loan issues & work with sales, underwriting and/or closing group(s) to resolve
• Conduct regularly recurring staff meetings to update on policy/procedure changes
• Anticipate potential issues and develop solutions
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years experience in mortgage lending experience, with at least 3+ years in mortgage processing
• 2+ years of mortgage management experience
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements
• Must possess the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast paced environment
• Ability to handle competing priorities effectively and within established timeframes
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective oral & written communication skills
• Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate careful decision-making skills
• Current knowledge of loan processing & automated underwriting systems
• Current knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA guidelines
• Must be an effective time manager
• Will need to work independently with minimal supervision
• Basic working knowledge of loan origination systems and Microsoft Word & Excel
