Position at New Penn Financial
The primary focus of the Senior Accountant is to fulfill and manage the daily Title Company and Appraisal Management Company accounting processes, administer the vendor database, perform accounting for fixed assets and prepaid assets for all companies, support lease accounting, and perform monthly reconciliations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Facilitate all accounting processes across all account classifications, including revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities for the Title Company and Appraisal Management Company.
• Maintain the fixed and prepaid asset accounting system and subledgers and record all fixed asset and prepaid asset activity for all Consolidated and Affiliated Companies.
• Administer and maintain the vendor database for Accounts Payable processing, including;
◦ Setting up new vendors and maintaining the vendor approval workflow.
◦ Supporting the annual 1099 tax reporting process.
◦ Manage the resolution of vendor issues.
• Reconcile and clear the intercompany accounts for the Consolidated and Affiliated Companies.
• Perform lease accounting for the Consolidated and Affiliated Companies.
• Provide thorough monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Investigate and resolve reconciling differences in a timely manner.
• Focus on efficiency related to the design and simplification of the assigned account processes while maintaining the necessary SOX compliance. Participate in on-going process improvements around the accuracy of recording and reporting accounting data.
• Serve as the primary accounting liaison to Senior Management of the Title and Appraisal Management Companies and provide high quality, timely responses to this Management.
• Troubleshoot accounting related problems and address in a timely manner. Communicate in a clear and concise manner to the Accounting Manager and Controller.
• Perform a monthly account fluctuation analysis and support unusual variances.
• Cross-train in other accounting processes and perform other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline is required
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a high‐volume, high‐pressure environment involving the use of advanced spreadsheet functions and reporting tools.
• Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Office applications, including being a strong Excel User (Advanced Pivot Tables, Advanced Macros, Advanced Look-ups).
• Must be extremely detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Requires organization, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the willingness to complete assignments and projects in a time sensitive environment.
• Must be flexible and willing to work closely with other employees within the department, other business channels, and other Affiliates and Subsidiaries within the Company.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with the Manager and other Senior Members of the Company.
