Manage all underwriting and production for the Regional portfolio for Standard Lines Property & Casualty Corporate Insurance Business. The position will lead all geographic strategy and execution for assigned region by communicating the vision, refining operations and enhancing processes to support achievement of goals and profitability for assign Regional Profit/Loss with the target Agent/Brokers for the market.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Communicate vision of Corporate Insurance business plans by guiding territorial goals and
expectations, collaborating with senior leadership and analyzing metrics to ensure operations support organizational objectives in assigned territory
• Demonstrate leadership that develops a team culture with an appropriate balance of underwriting and sales to drive excellent outcomes which achieves and exceeds business plan goals
• Facilitate underwriting team’s regular communication with agencies to strengthen business
relationships and equip agents with information and tools that support the achievement of Corporate Insurance Accounts new business and retention sales objectives
• Provide operational oversight of territory by managing underwriting initiatives and resources,
monitoring performance, appetite mix of the portfolio and addressing any adverse trends.
• Lead the underwriting territory initiatives, agency visitation, new business production, renewal retention, quality self-reviews, authority delegation for team and ensure continuous improvement of all direct resources for services and processes in the territory
• Utilize high degree of business acumen to drive negotiations and relationships surrounding complex risks to ensure agreements and plans contribute to organizational growth and development as a competitive force in the marketplace
• Shape and manager the Large Account Service Solutions process for eligible accounts in partnership with Loss Control, Claims, Sales, Product, and others as appropriate
• Partner with Product and the Referral team on risk selection and pricing
• Manage assigned staff and resources in the branch location to ensure compliance with underwriting standards and best practices, effective management of insurance risks and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
• Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource
needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal
responsibility
Required:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience:10+ years relevant experience
Preferred:
Experience:Corporate Insurances property and casualty insurance; insurance underwriting
experience; field operations management; experience managing or leading others; increasing levels of responsibility
Licenses/Certifications:Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); Certificate of General Insurance (INS); Associate in Insurance Production (AIP)
Preferred Knowledge:
Advanced working knowledge of Corporate Underwriting and sales, insurance principles and best practices, including contracts, rating, coverage and underwriting
• Advanced working knowledge of laws and regulations related to area of responsibility
• Advanced working knowledge of terminology, concepts and principles related to strategic planning
• Corporate insurance market trends, industry niches, large account handling and current
organizational strategies
• Principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, evaluation of customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
• Advanced working knowledge of market trends and current organizational strategies
