Kearney is currently seeking a Manager to join our FDA team in Beltsville, MD team. The ideal candidate would have highly proficient knowledge of federal financial reporting, the use of the United States Standard General Ledger and root cause analysis. Also organizes, directs, coordinates planning, and execution of technical support activities as stated in the statement of work. The manager would assume responsibility for coordination of subordinate activities. Including monitoring project performance and staff relationships.
Responsibilities
• Perform walkthroughs
• Identify gaps
• Create Standard operating procedures
• Perform reconciliations, research variances and submit corrective action recommendations
• Demonstrate expertise in Green Book and OMB A-123
• Lead the engagement in providing appropriate staff development
• Plan, manage, and oversee internal control and financial reporting
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply them to client situations
• Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment
• Drafting, preparing and reviewing project deliverables
Qualifications
• 6 years of Federal Accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate messages and ideas succinctly
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Participate in integrated Kearney/Federal team and complete assigned tasks
• Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn
• Work location is in Calverton/Beltsville, MD
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA
• Experience with FBWT or Grants processes
