Manage regulatory filings to state and federal regulators relating to provision of life insurance, annuities and supplemental health benefits. This includes gathering relevant information from internal stakeholders, preparing such filings for submission, and engaging with regulators with respect to such filings as required. In addition, the position will be responsible for assisting with the handling of state insurance department market conduct examinations and managing the Company’s relationships with industry trade organizations, including tracking Company representation within such groups as necessary to ensure appropriate representation.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Tracking regulatory deadlines and developing processes to ensure that Company filings are submitted in a timely fashion to both state and federal regulators.
• Responding to regulatory inquiries related to such filings and engaging with internal counsel as appropriate.
• Coordinating and assisting with the handling of state insurance department market conduct examinations and engaging with internal counsel as appropriate.
• Managing the Company’s relationships with industry organizations (e.g., coordinating representation on committees, tracking budget impacts and qualitative analysis of effective use of resources).
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, or a related discipline.
• Experience with life insurance products and the regulatory regimes (e.g., state insurance laws, federal securities laws, electronic commerce regulations) applicable to such products preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical, written/verbal communication skills and creative thinking, a “team player” attitude, as well as ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and regulator contacts.
• The ability to manage numerous projects and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
