Contributes to the efficient and effective achievement of Company business objectives by applying and gaining knowledge of the business environment and completing work assignments.
Essential Job Functions:
• Supports and completes the analysis of commercial mortgage loan investments in the origination process with quantitative and qualitative assessments, including initial transaction review and analysis, due diligence items, market research, underwriting analysis, support on investment memorandums, among other matters as required by the loan officer and/or analyst.
• Supports the closing of commercial mortgage loan investments through assisting the loan officer, analyst and closing manager with review of any and all documentation required, including but not limited to lease analysis, estoppel review, third party (appraisal, environmental, property condition, seismic), among other closing related matters.
• Supports the loan administration and portfolio management (performing, sub-performing, and REO) efforts through quantitative and qualitative analysis, including review and analysis of property inspection reports, operating statements, data input into mortgage loan systems, and any other project or process related work.
• Any other project based work as required by the Investment Management department.
• Work directly with a variety of investment professionals.
• Periodically attend various committee meetings to provide a broad perspective of Investment Management.
• This internship opportunity is scheduled to begin Summer 2019 and run until May 2020.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Interns for this position are required to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and full-time (40 hours/ week) during the summer months.
• Completion of, currently taking, or registered to take the next semester, the following courses: Corporate Finance and Security Analysis, Principles of Economics (Micro and Macro), and Money and Banking, in addition to any Accounting related courses.
• Experience with Microsoft Word.
• Strongly proficient in Microsoft Excel and formula building.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral.
• Able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better.
