RSM is looking for a State & Local Tax (“SALT”) Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our Property Tax Practice in our Denver, Colorado Office. The primary focus of this position will be personal property tax, but there will be some exposure to real estate valuation consulting. This role provides an opportunity to join a growing and high-performing SALT practice.
In your important role, you will be responsible for the following:
• Prepare and process tangible personal property filings by reviewing and analyzing clients’ books and records
• Track and process client tax statements
• Analyze notices of assessed value for both tangible and real property to determine assessment reductions
• Assist clients with a variety of property tax matters
• Call local jurisdictions to request bills, notices, work papers, etc.
• Apply software knowledge to efficiently work with client data
• This position requires meeting deadlines, maximizing efficiency, and maintaining accuracy
• Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for tax hearings
• Assist with preparation of project status reports for clients
• Maintain multi-state property tax procedure knowledge, relative to various states and local taxing authorities, and stay current with changes in tax laws, regulations, and policies
• Perform client, industry, and general market research
Qualifications / Skills:
• Accounting, Finance, or related degree preferred but not required
• Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive follow-up and attention to detail required
• Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
• Self-starter who is detail and deadline oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Technical aptitude for learning and understanding technology and tools
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
• Ability to function in fast paced environment
• Ability to prioritize workload to meet critical deadlines
• Ability to work proactively during off-season periods and willingness to challenge status quo to improve current processes.
