The BizOps Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – National Industry Professional will serve as the industry leader within the BizOps organization supporting the Real Estate industry group.
• S/he will have full knowledge of and deep understanding of financial and operational aspects of businesses in his /her specific industry.
• The CFO – National Industry Professional will support the controllers and CFO’s across the firm and help deepen their knowledge and technical understanding of businesses in that specific industry.
• The CFO will set the standards for the deliverables, including key performance indicators and value drivers for businesses in his/her specific industry.
• H/she will be involved in market facing activities the Retail industry team is involved in.
Work Activities & Accountabilities:
• Works with Shared Service Center to standardize deliverables and make them high quality and industry specialized. Able to effectively and efficiently manage multiple members in the team.
• Able to become service and industry thought leader. Be part of industry leadership and participates in market facing activities.
• Support CFOs and controllers who serve clients in his/her industry
• Improve client service plan by developing innovative value-add solutions the CFOs and Controllers in the various offices can implement with their clients. Build leadership and problem identification skills.
• Primary focus on internal communications and activities. Capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
Technical Knowledge:
• Deep industry knowledge of financial and operational processes and accounting functions for his/her specific industry.
• Understands the needs of owners and their entities in his/her industry.
• Capable of recommending, designing, and implementing solutions that increase profitability or decrease risk for these entities.
Organizational Interfaces:
• The BizOps CFO reports directly to the BizOps Managing Principal. S/he regularly interacts with Managing Principals, industry Principals, service Principals, and other functional groups within CLA and at the client site.
• S/he supervises accounting services staff which may include CLA BizOps staff
• S/he is aligned with a career coach (who may or may not be the same as the direct supervisor) to help with career planning, be an advocate for the experiences needed to reach goals, navigate the firm’s resources, and share insights, expertise, and guidance to develop his/her full potential.

Minimum Required Experience, Education, and Certifications:
• Experience: Minimum five years relative work experience as a CFO or equivalent. Must have significant experience in the Real Estate industry.
• Education: BA/BS degree in accounting or related field required.
• Certification: CPA preferred.

• Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 5 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Individuals in client-serving positions must be able to travel to/from client sites, as required.
• Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. Client environments may vary, depending on services provided, but most, if not all, work will be performed in a traditional office setting under normal working conditions.
Travel: This position requires more than 50% travel.
