As Senior Digital Marketing Strategist for Principal Global Investors (PGI), you will help drive the PGI digital strategy roadmap (digital focus areas, role of digital innovation, how to leverage data for continuous improvement, etc.) to align with enterprise goals. The Sr. Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for the planning, execution, and monitoring of digital, web and mobile application-based services for Principal Global Investors. You will manage multiple projects concurrently, building cross-functional plans, coordinating resources, managing issues, as well as ensuring timely delivery through the full digital product life cycle. This work includes tactics such as gathering requirements with stakeholders, leading design and development to delivery, analytics tracking, and ongoing management of digital assets.
Key responsibilities include:
• Manages full life cycle of projects for new and existing web properties and digital assets. Coordinates internal teams and vendors for on time, quality deliverables.
• Develops and refines project management practices for the Digital Marketing team and incorporates opportunities to improve processes through continuous innovation and vision.
• Manages cross-division team of designers, developers, and analysts to execute on digital plans.
• Ensures analytics included within all digital programs are tracked, reported on, and analyzed. Uses analytics to test and iterate to make improvements.
• Leads/customer journey mapping, audience development.
• Maintains ongoing familiarity of competitor and industry trends and digital innovations; provides recommendations on how to differentiate our content from competitors; recommends strategies/technologies, as appropriate.
• Ensures web content development activities support company goals, the business unit, and are consistent with the overall digital strategy.
• Completes administrative and editorial responsibilities for digital communications, including analysis of user activity and consulting on strategies for optimization. Reports results to key stakeholders.
• Actively participates on agile teams within the department and across the organization, as appropriate.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or business-related field, or equivalent of 8 years’ experience. MBA a plus.
• 5+ years’ related experience required in digital marketing role required
• Knowledge of (or ability to obtain) the asset management industry and products is required
• Requires advanced oral and written language skills; listening; accuracy; attention to detail; time management and strong decision-making skills
• Excellent planning/organizational, problem solving, presentation, with an emphasis on analytical skills required.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. Must be able to provide on-call support for job responsibilities.
• Experience managing production of large-scale, consumer facing, web products preferred
• Experience using workflow tools to manage the completion of deliverables such as JIRA, Microsoft Project or Percolate, among others preferred
• Experience with Google Analytics, Coveo, Brightedge, Drupal, Salesforce, or similar systems and tools
• Experience and knowledge leveraging the capabilities of marketing automation, web analytics, SEM tools and/or data management platforms
• Direct experience leading multidisciplinary teams toward successful digital initiative outcomes
Successful candidates will also have the following:
• Experience managing global digital properties
• Ability to understand and simplify complex information
• Ability to manage parallel work streams spanning strategy, design, development
• Experience managing external digital consultants and associated resources
• Ability to report on key marketing insights learned from digital analytics
• Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
