Director - Product Innovation
Overview
The Digital Future team is responsible for helping guide Mastercard’s digital strategy and development by anticipating customer needs and future proofing our business for the long-term. This includes analyzing emerging trends to inform corporate strategy, providing industry thought leadership and driving product innovation in areas like the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, mobile network operator engagement, and others, through new business models and solutions.
The Digital Future team engages with key stakeholders across the organization to deliver secure, relevant and valued commerce and everyday purchase experiences for consumers and end users across technologies, channels and devices. We work with banks, merchants and digital participants to build a valued ecosystem.

• The candidate will ideate, design and execute new products and pilots across emerging
technologies and business models.
• The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional with a proven track record
of global product innovation and development in an emerging space and possess a skillset
that supports strategic opportunity identification and evaluation, technical expertise and
interest in emerging technologies, establishing and executing partnerships & alliances, and
managing & tracking program performance.
• They will have direct end-responsibility for designing global prototypes, executing relevant
pilots and proofs of concepts in partnership with a variety of internal and external technical
resources.
• They will work closely together with US Market and International Markets to identify key
needs and emerging trends as well as conduct partner engagement and innovation ideation
sessions.
• In addition to developing prototypes and pilots based on new technology and trends the
individual will identify and advise on how mastercard strategy can be best positioned to react
to identified changes.
• In addition to possessing a profound understanding of the space, they provide deep and
broad knowledge of MasterCard’s product assets.

Role
• Develop new and innovative products from ideation, prototype development and pilot
• Work with partners across emerging technology categories like IoT, AR, VR, Conversational
Commerce and AI
• Identify new business opportunities through lead generation, solutioning, and the build of
functional prototypes, PoCs and Pilots.
• Partner with Mastercard Labs for idea generation, prototype development, and execution
support
• Develop initial business cases and identify strategic impact to Mastercard business
• Serve as subject matter expert for technologies utilized in newly developed products and
potential impact to Mastercard’s products and services
• Create proposal for strategic accommodation of emerging trends
• Coordinate with a broad set of stake holders including external and internal teams to build
compelling uses cases and pilots with quantifiable (KPIs) outcomes.
• Partner with product teams, solutions engineering, and regional market development teams
to transition successful pilots into commercial products.
• Hands on management of all aspects of the digital product development process facilitating,
prioritizing and informing business of product requirements internally to leverage the scale
and reach of Mastercard digital consumer products.
• Proactively assess, clarify, and validate partner needs during concept development
• Develop relationships with industry partners to execute pilots and develop products in a real-
world environment
• Socialize vision and strategy with key stakeholders and develop insights that will drive
business and products
All About You
• Expert in innovation, product management or product development
• Sound business judgment with established strategic/conceptual thinking and strategic
planning skills
• Passion and experience in developing new digital products taking advantage of emerging
technologies
• Excellent management skills: effectively and proactively builds business partnerships, builds
consensus; develops and leverages key relationships; understands the diverse needs and
objectives of various stakeholders; strong influencing and negotiation skills
• Strong expertise in mobile technology, e/m-commerce, payments, design and solutions
engineering
• Innovative thinker with the ability to articulate a new product concepts
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with strong problem solving and
analytical skills
• Strong track record of driving tangible business results
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, both drafting and presenting, oral and
written information
• Global nature of role may require some travel
• Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree a plus
• Fluency in English required, additional language(s) a plus
