Our New York City office is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our outsourcing services group as a Team Leader. In this role s/he will manage multiple client engagements and provide high-level accounting guidance to our outsourced accounting services team.
The CFO Team Leader shows positive management skills, excellent technical ability and a high degree of passion for doing impactful work. S/he is accountable for building focused and productive teams, identifying and implementing best practices and overseeing the delivery of high-quality client work.
Primary Activities & Accountabilities
Working with clients across both Private and Public industries, the CFO Team Leader reports directly to the client and the local Outsourcing Principal. S/he is collaborative and interacts regularly with internal industry and quality team leaders, leads by example and is able to effectively and efficiently manage multiple clients and team members across assignments.
The following functions reflect the general details of work activities and accountabilities of this position. The list is not all-inclusive and other activities may be assigned as part of this position.
• Client Management:Works directly with client management and board members and is responsible for understanding client needs and managing service delivery to meet those needs. Scopes and implements innovative client service plans and adjusts delivery accordingly.
• Staff Training:Helps plan, develop, deliver and oversee team training and development.
• Administration: Monitors team budget hours and manages team schedules. Oversees completion of quality reporting and filing requirements. Works with Shared Service Center to standardize deliverables.

Technical Knowledge
• Maintains deep industry knowledge of financial and operational processes of assigned industries.
• Develops and maintains a thorough working knowledge of accounting software packages.
• Utilizes internal CPE learning opportunities to maintain technical accounting knowledge.
Qualifications
• Minimum of five years relative work experience as a CFO or equivalent.
• Education: BA/BS degree in accounting or related field required.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior consulting experience is preferred.
• Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Accounting Software, etc.).
• CPA preferred
• Willingness to travel to local client sites within the Greater NYC Metro Area (5 boroughs).
