Overview
First Republic Bank is looking for a motivated lending professional to join our Commercial Lending team. A the Collateral Specialist you will draw on your thoroughness and accuracy for the day to day monitoring of the collateral supporting the Bank’s loan portfolio. This includes daily monitoring of the stock secured portfolio, processing insurance information, analyzing borrowing base certificates and reviewing and monitoring various reports. You will also update AFS with various data including stock, insurance, UCC and Deed of Trust recording information. This is an excellent opportunity to gain and utilize an in-depth knowledge of various lending products as well as AFS and OSI to support lending operations.
Responsibilities
Additionally, you will:
• Prepare, review and research daily stock secured reports.
• Approve new loan funding and process collateral release.
• Research, review, approve or decline collateral withdrawals and loan advances.
• Perform cusp overrides on the global level and loan level.
• Perform manual calculations for draws and advances that system may decline.
• Respond to inquiries by Business Bankers, Securities Team and other external stakeholder
• Responsibilities include the following: 1)adhering to and complying with all applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.); 2)adhering to Bank policies and procedures; 3) completing required training; 4) identifying and reporting potential suspicious activity to the BSA/AML Officer; and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.
Qualifications
• 2-3 years of experience in banking and lending, with exposure to commercial products preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Proactive individual able to operate efficiently in a fast paced environment, especially at month and quarter end.
• Passion for delivering extraordinary service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate technical concepts in a way that’s easy to understand.
• Must be able to work independently, efficiently, possess good organization, and prioritization skils.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks within strict time constraints.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and maintain composure while dealing with difficult customers.
• Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, notably MS Excel.
• Experience with loan systems such as AFS, TotalPlus, and/or OnBase a plus.
