Description
Position Responsibilities:
• Provides high-level technical support for applications computing technologies within areas of expertise by maintaining and enhancing existing technologies and researching, planning for and implementing new ones.
• Consults with internal and external customers on the utilization of applications computing technologies, within areas of expertise, to ensure that customers optimize the value of those technologies.
• Identifies and resolves highly complex technical problems and issues with assigned hardware, software and work processes.
• Escalates problems beyond level of expertise to manager or vendor representatives.
• Provides high-level consulting across multiple technical disciplines.
• Reviews the work of applications project team members to ensure that all technical issues are resolved, that systems are technically sound and that applications meet business requirements.
• Researches new technologies, within multiple areas of expertise, for possible implementation; makes recommendations based on findings.
• Performs duties within standardized practices, where applicable.
• Recommends and implements improvements to existing technologies and methods or proposes new ones, to improve the quality and timeliness of technical and customer support.
• Delivers quality and timely results, i.e., technical and customer support, based on company business needs and objectives.
• Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge within areas of responsibility.
• Fosters the development of technical knowledge and performance skills of applications computing project teams.
• Complies with and supports all corporate, department policies and procedures.
Position Qualifications:
• 8 years of progressive work experience in software development of large enterprise systems.
• 5 years of experience in the following: Guidewire PolicyCenter and Guidewire Billing Center, Guidewire product configuration, integration development, Java language, Gosu language, and the Property and Casualty Insurance domain.
• Most recent experience must include overall solution design, system architecture, deployment, and performance tuning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or foreign equivalent
