We have an exceptional opportunity for a Director to manage and oversee the home-based Institutional Relationship Manager team (Field Reps) who work with employers, business associations, and regional outreach coalitions to raise awareness and support implementation of the CalSavers Retirement Savings Program. The team will help employers register for and facilitate the CalSavers, and also help employees understand the importance of saving for retirement and the benefits of the Program. This position will be home-based in Los Angeles; occasional evening and weekend (including overnight) travel is required.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of home-based Institutional Relationship Managers
◦ Lead team in the development and delivery of an effective outreach strategy
◦ Provide appropriate oversight and tracking of all team activities
◦ Ensure compliance and product expertise across the team
◦ Hire, train and develop representatives as required
◦ Establish and maintain a continual review of all outreach activities, marketing and collateral, compliance, training and budgetary controls
• Assist the Board and Staff in raising awareness of CalSavers
◦ Partner with the Board to ensure goals and outreach efforts are well calibrated
◦ Serve as the key point of contact for all field team outreach initiatives
◦ Attend Board meetings as directed by the Board and Relationship Manager
◦ Demonstrate an effective impact of all outreach efforts via annual recap or as required
◦ Conduct and oversee regional information sessions as required
◦ Resolve challenges and address in a productive way to improve future functionality
◦ Identify and develop success stories for use in program promotion
• Build and maintain strong relationships within Ascensus and the field team
◦ Instill and support the Ascensus core values across the team
◦ Facilitate information across the team to ensure strong and transparent relations
◦ Coordinate on-going training and team-building within the various departments
◦ Represent Ascensus, CalSavers, and the Board in a highly professional and respectful manner
• Become a state sponsored retirement program (SSRP) industry expert
◦ Serve as an external and internal expert source of SSRP knowledge
◦ Stay abreast of changes to applicable laws and rules
◦ Attend and represent SSRP and Ascensus at industry conferences in regard to outreach best practices
• Lead and assist in project work as applicable
◦ Work with Marketing to develop outreach communication/marketing materials that are effective and compliant in driving enrollment and participation
◦ Track and report on events, activities, key relationships and demonstrate impact
◦ Work with key employers and partners to promote and facilitate program usage
◦ Be mindful and creative in leveraging our technology to assist the Board in their goals
• Be a valued and trusted team player within the Relationship Management Team
◦ Work with team Directors to understand and implement best practices
◦ Work with Relationship Manager to understand any client and board considerations
◦ Work closely with team members to ensure they are well-supported to meet their goals
◦ Actively host and participate in team meetings to ensure open and clear communication

• Responsible for protecting, securing, and properly handling all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in financial services - sales, marketing or client services
• Strong experience or knowledge of retail IRA products and Employer Retirement Plans
• FINRA Series 6 or 7 preferred
• Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA is preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
• Professional employee management and/or training experience is required
• Cooperative leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team-orientation
• Excellent communication and presentation experience
• Moderate travel required (25%-50%); occasional overnight, for training and client support
• Work from home independently; some nights and weekends as necessary
