GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analytical support on a variety of issues related to the Pension Plans
• Assignments related to the investment portfolio of New York Life
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Primary - work with Pension consultant, Legal, Human Resources and other groups and assist in supporting the Trustees on the Pension Plans
• Drive periodic asset/liability studies and asset allocation recommendations
• Conduct and develop manager search/evaluation/recommendation/watch list
• Review quarterly and special ad-hoc Trustees meeting material
• Assist Trustees in carrying out allocation/investment decisions, portfolio rebalancing and private equity commitment targets
• Work with functional groups to support planning, operations, and governance
• Prepare Compensation Committee and other reporting material for the Plans
• Secondary – assignments in support related to management of New York Life’s General Account
• OCIO budget management/projection
• Surplus management account management
• Peer analysis
• Annual report preparation
• Investment Committee preparation
• General Account asset allocation and investment programs (e.g. alpha, equity, strategic, and seed)
• Asset liability management
• Investment assumptions data collection and analysis
• New York Life Foundation investment portfolio management
• Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation support portfolio management
• Derivative hedging programs
• Seguros Monterrey investment activities/team support
• Variable product platform’s fund analysis support
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years related work experience
• ASA preferred; MBA or CFA beneficial
• Familiarity with accounting (statutory and GAAP)
• Experience in insurance industry preferred
• Strong analytical skills and financial modeling skills required
• Highly proficient in Excel and Powerpoint
• High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong written communication and presentation skills
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Exposure to capital markets and alternative investments preferred
