Reporting to the Head of Product Management, The Product Performance Partner is responsible for ensuring individual client and business line needs are met, while providing for effective portfolio growth and profitability of the business in accordance with budget targets. They will work in close collaboration with the Student Lending Product Management Team, Finance, Risk Management, Distribution and other business partners to optimize portfolio growth, fee revenue, and margin revenue and oversee product specific expenses across their assigned distribution lines. This position will be responsible for successful P&L management and related business analysis, as well as product management activities.
• Strategic management of an assigned product line to achieve acquisition, growth, retention and margin objectives. This includes effective risk management and documentation of diligence activities. Works closely with the Student Lending Head of Product Management to ensure Budget objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate with Student Lending Product Managers to complete business case analysis for vetting and eventual prioritization. Business case to identify opportunities for volume growth, margin expansion, improved customer experience or risk mitigation (for example)
• Coordinate with colleagues in Product Management as well as support partners to lead drafting efforts for executive management presentations.
• Partners with Finance and the Portfolio Manager in developing budgets and forecasts actively driving discussion of product and pricing strategies and expected portfolio behaviors to drive achieving budgets.
• Directs ad hoc reporting on portfolio trends and related industry comparisons including competitive analysis of product, pricing, portfolio dynamics and promotional structures
The Product Performance Partner establishes strategic direction for their assigned product line portfolio balance/margin management and is accountable for daily management of the portfolio, delivering margin revenue and annual expenses. This role will be a key influence on how partners are effectively sources, Role with drive significant improvement in the on-boarding of new partners. This position oversees development and implementation of plans and strategies to ensure achievement of volume goals and revenue/profitability objectives for all assigned product groups, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines. The role actively supports and influences product development and positioning strategy, establishing pricing strategies consistent with overall objectives, analysis functions in support of the product portfolios.
Qualifications
• Strategic thinker and planner with progressively responsible experience in product management and operations in financial services or other relevant service sector industries.
• Superior capabilities in executing strategies and tactics for consumer and small business banking products and services. Strong ‘end-to-end’ product development and product management processes and disciplines.
• Track record of successful development and implementation of portfolio management, product management, product enhancements, and operations capabilities across a broad portfolio of products and services.
• Strong understanding of and exposure to current technologies deployed for effective retail and commercial financial services delivery.
• Expert builder and manager of internal and external relationships.
• Clear and articulate communicator with strong personal presence who establishes credibility with audiences inside and outside the bank.
Education
• BA in Business, Finance, Marketing or Economics required. Master’s Degree preferred
