A day in your life as a Sales Assistant
Under the direction of the Manager, this position provides sales, administrative and customer service support to Bankoh Investment Services, Inc. (BISI) Financial Advisors and their customers. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors.
We’ll give you these important responsibilities…
• Reviews new account applications, forms and opens new accounts, follows up on deficient items, performs account transfers, receives and processes service requests, disbursement requests and provides backup to other Assistants.
• Researches and resolves customer inquiries/problems, meets walk in customers and prospects, answers telephones, prepares account analysis and performs various servicing items as requested.
• Assists Financial Advisors and customers by providing information and conducting research, answering operational and servicing questions. Places trade orders (allowable with their securities licenses) for customers and representatives, completes trade blotters and other appropriate documentation. Acts as a liaison between customers and representatives with BISI’s clearing firm.
• Performs account record changes, prepares and maintains Financial Advisor correspondence, acts as liaison with various Bank of Hawaii departments. Assists with mail disbursement and prepares Advisor’s expense reports.
• Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education:
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Possesses FINRA Series 6 & 63, and Life Accident and Health insurance licenses.
• Optional licenses: Series 65 or 66.
Experience:
• Minimum three years of investment or related experience.
• High volume clerical and customer service experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) or similar software.
Other Job Qualifications:
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, customer service orientation and telephone skills.
• Must be a good listener, who is able to express complex ideas in concise and simple terms.
• Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Must be analytical, organized and able to function under time constraints with shifting priorities.
• Able to type accurately at least 35 wpm.
