Opportunity Overview
• Lead cross functional efforts to drive the strategic direction and execution for the firm's online presence. Routinely drive efforts with a variety of business units (Information Systems, Operations, Products and Services, Sales Training, Legal and Compliance) to achieve results.
• Responsible for the overall planning and performance of the firm’s global Web sites in the U.S. and Canada, including edwardjones.com, with 30+ million visits per year; the firm's authenticated client access website with 80,000 logins per year, and several microsites. Develop some sites in French and ensure sites are accessible for the visually impaired.
• Responsible for setting direction for firm's mobile apps and work with cross-divisional teams to develop the ideal user experience.
• Responsible for setting strategy for firm's social media presence at the corporate and local level. Oversee multi-million-dollar social media program for 6,000+ advisors to use social media to grow their business, while maintaining compliant with industry regulations.
• Manage execution of creative for digital advertising and search engine marketing.
• Set strategy, develop programs and execute the firm's electronic delivery initiatives.
• Responsible for growing adoption and usage of the firm's websites and e-delivery channels by developing highly-targeted marketing campaigns to 8 million clients and branch teams in more than 12,000 remote offices.
• Responsible for marketing technology initiatives for the firm. Direct work of team that is responsible for marketing systems used by branches, which provides customization of marketing materials, including ads, fliers, letters and list management systems.
• Manage agency and vendor relationships to achieve maximum results.
• Manage significant firm expenses and/or vendor relationships that involve several million dollars across multiple initiatives.
• Responsible for development and leadership of marketing leaders.
Position Requirements
Master's degree required in Business Administration, Marketing or related field. 15+ years of experience in related roles preferred. Significant leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility, largely focused on digital initiatives and leading cross-functional teams. Financial services experience required.
• Strong leadership skills in order to lead cross divisional initiatives, in addition to direct reports.
• Ability to understand the marketplace, business needs and digital landscape in order to set digital strategy and develop effective plans.
• Deep understanding of the brand and ability to deliver effective digital marketing to drive business.
• Ability to lead efforts to implement integrated marketing campaigns, using direct mail, e-mail, video, print, etc. to reach clients.
• Ability to innovate in order to streamline processes, leverage technology and provide efficiencies.
• Strong presentation skills are essential.
• Ability to oversee creative development and coordinate with agencies for digital advertising, website and app development, and social media efforts.
• Deep financial services knowledge needed in order to develop processes online (i.e. client self-service tools as well as tools that support the client/advisor interaction.)
• Thorough understanding of Web best practices, user-centered design, and Web technologies to provide the best user experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage risk and produce results.
