ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Approve accounts payable automatic checks and review entries for accuracy. Approve centralized payment requests; reconcile bank accounts; maintain miscellaneous related journals; produce and supervise distribution of reports.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve any problems/issues.
• Review capital expenditure transactions for accuracy.
• Assist with special projects as required.
• Compile, analyze, and code information for general ledger account entries. This would include documenting all cash and non-cash transactions and coordinating this information in such a way that others have access to this documentation.
• Prepare, analyze and maintain regular and special financial reports for management and shareholders including balance sheets, income statements, cash reports, profit and loss statements, etc.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university; and a minimum of two years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong organizational skills including the ability to organize duties and prioritize work load; good reconciliation skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to carry out detailed and sometimes complex verbal and written instructions; ability to tactfully and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with other employees, managers and outside vendors; 10-key by touch; ability to work effectively under periods of time pressure; aptitude to learn and operate various computers and related software.
