Job Description
Job Summary:
Manages BSA/AML/OFAC Compliance functions within specialized units for assigned regions/business segments/BSA/AML/OFAC Compliance units within the financial services holding company, fulfilling regulatory compliance management requirements in support of the enterprise-wide BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages or direct the activities of supervisors /non-exempt/exempt staff in BSA/AML/OFAC compliance functions within specialized units for assigned regions/business segments/BSA/AML/OFAC compliance units in: suspicious activity monitoring and SAR and CTR reporting; identification and risk rating of higher risk customers; determining eligibility for CTR exemption and OFAC screening.
• Uses high level of professional knowledge, experience and analytical criteria to identify BSA/AML/OFAC compliance risk and helps ensure that proper controls, procedures, processes and training are developed to mitigate these risks.
• Uses information gathered from various banks sources and supervised staff to detect patterns, trends and unusual activity ensures that investigations are completed and that SARs are filed and that information is provided to department's senior management.
• Produce risk reports of assigned region/business segment/unit for use by the department's senior management in communicating BSA/AML/OFAC compliance risk and issues to senior management, committees and the Board of Directors and examiners.
• Coordinates and supports BSA/AML/OFAC compliance exams and audits for assigned region/business segment/BSA/AML/OFAC compliance unit; responds to any deficiencies noted for assigned area and ensures that corrective actions are implemented.
• Participates in testing and evaluation of compliance with BSA/AML/OFAC requirements and completes assignments for special projects or program enhancements.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the assigned AML/BSA area. Provide leadership, direction and growth opportunities to members of the department, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, appraising performance, disciplining team members and resolving problems. Work with the Human Resources Department to resolve more complex team member-related issues.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
