We are currently seeking a Chief Information Officer- Payments, who has successfully developed and executed a Payments Technology Program. The individual will be responsible for the technology strategy and execution across all Channels and all Payment Types. While working with the Business Product Teams, this person will be responsible for stabilizing and containing legacy shared services whilst developing a Hub based architecture and a Roadmap aligned with the Business Strategy. S/he's responsibilities include strategic vision, team leadership, cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring transparency across engagements, resource planning, management of senior roles, and consulting with internal clients. Further, the CIO– Payments, will be responsible for working with the respective Channels Businesses, Risk, Compliance and Operations functions to deliver Payment capability to Customers and Employees. S/he will have the opportunity to leverage Santander Group’s global presence, cross-border capabilities and innovation agenda to provide differentiated capabilities and multinational client base to bring speed to market. In addition, this individual will be responsible for extending the execution of this strategy beyond the bank to include other entities under Santander Holdings US.
The incumbent is results driven, collaborates with and supports CTO, peers and shared functions to achieve strategic objectives. S/he will partner with the Business Executives in providing Technology capabilities to best serve Santander Bank N.A.’ customers and meet regulatory requirements.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Defines vision and strategy directly with the executives of the business line executives.
• Ensures regular individual and team meetings take place, and offers continuous performance feedback, and the setting of professional development goals.
• Create awareness and understanding of risk within team and ensures it is a priority, actively promoting a culture of risk management.
• Adheres and promotes organizational policies and procedures to ensure a secure environment for data, solutions and operating systems.
• Manages attrition and builds/develops talent, coaches and mentors staff, and identifies succession plans.
• Increase employee engagement and learning.
• Interprets requirements, define subject area models, align with & review business enterprise model.
• Works directly with the business line executives on technology costs for change and run the bank activities.
• Monitors portfolio of projects and works with Platform Owners to ensure any risks arising are identified.
• Understands the trends and shifts in relevant technology and resulting analysis and align professional development to required skills of the future.
• Provides strategy and guidance to Platform Directors for pursing new technologies and approaches that drive client efficiency and ROI.
• Ensures team manages current and future needs in data design and content.
• Negotiates with vendors with support from Legal and Procurement.
• Fosters and champions data governance practices.
• Promote a service focused, customer-centric culture, by understanding the role and impact of technology on the end customer.
Qualifications
• Bachelors or Equivalent in business analysis, accounting, business administration, management information systems or computer science;
• Master’s degree in related field (Computer Science, IT, MIS,) preferred.
• Experience: 12-15 years in the Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Ability to demonstrate a sustained history of business transformation through technology delivery.
• Prior success executing a Payments strategy to completion at another US based Bank.
• Strong critical / analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints.
• Ability to utilize tact and knowledge to resolve issues, train on specific policies and procedural guidelines.
• Ability to identify risk, probability, impact and how to mitigate risks.
• Excellent facilitation skills for meeting management, and requirements workshop planning and management.
• Ability to use analytical skills to identify key stakeholders impacted by changes and understand their influence and authority levels.
• Ability to elicit questions to gather information at the right level of detail and scope to represent all of the stakeholder’s needs, and that lead to an understanding of the business need rather than what they want.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the use of presentation skills and the ability to create a requirements package.
• Ability to identify current capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize various modeling techniques such as, process modeling, data modeling, system modeling.
• Understands interface analysis, technology infrastructure and how it interconnects, including sharing data to achieve a business goal.
• Ability to know how a user interface helps the user to successfully complete a task, also known as usability.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Facilitates and maintains stakeholder confidence in the decision-making process.
