Zurich is currently looking for a Financial Reporting Project Manager III to work out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. In this highly visible role you will use your project management skills and will leverage your accounting and finance knowledge to support and manage key finance initiatives that will have an impact across the organization.
As the Financial Reporting Project Manager you will be responsible for:
•Leading financial projects to successful completion utilizing both staff and system resources efficiently and effectively
•Documenting and reviewing complex procedures identifying opportunities for automation and working with Finance users to implement
•Providing key support for the SAP General Ledger Transformation Initiative providing operational post go-live support, including developing operational support models, additional training and other support activities including procedure updates to key business processes due to newly introduced functionality
•Working with Finance users, IT counterparts and other stakeholders to develop/review project plans, determine deliverables, support testing, provide training and oversee financial projects through completion
•Communicating to key stakeholders regarding project updates and issues and escalating as needed
•Eliminating roadblocks, resolving issues and aligning resources in support of the project
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management area
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management area
AND
• Experience in strategic and operational consulting or business systems integration
Preferred Qualifications:
•CPA
•Insurance industry experience beneficial
•Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting processes
•International Financial Reporting Standards experience preferred
•Project management experience
•Experience with general ledger and financial reporting systems – SAP, Business Objects or other general ledgers, query tools
•Financial reporting tool experience including report writing skills preferred
•Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office experience including Microsoft Project
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to lead and serve as a technical resource in a team environment
•Demonstrated leadership skills
•Ability to manage multiple projects at once
•Receptive of change and ability to lead teams through change management as necessary
