Description
We’ll give you these important responsibilities…
• Provides financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients in the area of International Banking. Responsible for retention, growth, and profitability of assigned International client relationships and develops new relationships with prospective high net worth clients. Maintains a high deposit balance portfolio of International clients, calls on clients and prospects to establish, maintain and expand profitable client relationships, including solicitation of new deposits, credit, foreign exchange, trust, and investment services to fulfill client needs.
• Able to present alternative solutions for a variety of complex business situations. Works with internal partners to generate referrals and leads that result in new business or expand existing business. Networks in the community and market area for prospecting purposes and to establish new referral sources with Centers of Influence. Actively and accurately tracks sales pipeline. Leverages support units or alternative delivery channels to match the servicing needs of the client.
• Responsible for administration and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements, policies and procedures related to investment, bank depository, and credit facilities. Works closely with Private Banking Administrators to ensure that all accounts assigned are administered according to policies, procedures and governing documents. Actively ensures compliance with the Bank of Hawaii Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies, and procedures. Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Follows account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position. Actively works with customers to understand each customer’s normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT: Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry. If not yet registered, registration to be completed and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date. If not registered and accepted, employment may be terminated.
CREDIT REPORT REQUIREMENT: A credit report mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act to ensure demonstrated financial responsibility. The report is to be obtained and accepted no later than 30 days from employment or transfer date. If not accepted, employment may be terminated.
Education:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent business work experience.
Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years of International Banking experience and 2-3 years of client portfolio management experience.
Technical Skills:
• Must be able to speak write and read Japanese fluently.
• Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
• Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
Other Job Qualifications:
• Must have well developed analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
• Ability to make critical decisions independently.
• Possesses networking and business development skills.
• Able to handle high profile International Clients.
• Requires extensive knowledge of products and services, and expert knowledge of International Banking and credit products and services.
• Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
• Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, and able to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.
